From the ancient lands of the East to the cradle of the Renaissance

The story of Amirgiafari

The story begins with our paternal grandfather Ali Asgar, after the White Revolution occurred in Iran in 1963 he started a small carpet production of more than 12 square meters with the Sheikh Safi design in the countryside of eastern Azerbaijan.

It closed down due to the Islamic revolution in 1978.

The story of Minu and Shahrokh: A dream trapped in beauty

In 1972, Minu and Shahrokh, two young Persian students, left their beloved homeland to pursue their dream of a degree in Florence. Unfortunately, revolutionary events in Persia forced them to stay, distancing them from their roots.

So it was that their passion for their cultural heritage became an anchor to cling to, guiding them toward a destiny they could hardly have imagined.

The passion for fine craftsmanship and furniture, today, after 40 years is carried on by the children: Nilufar and Ali. The children carry on the desire to bring the masterpieces of the Oriental masters into European homes.

The allure of the east conquers the renaissance

The Florentines' curiosity about Oriental art did not go unnoticed by Minu and Shahrokh, who soon began consulting on precious Persian carpets. What began as a sideline turned into a true vocation, an ideal bridge to unite their origins with the new Florentine reality.

The rise of an enterprise of excellence

In 1978, Amirgiafari opened his first showroom in Florence, quickly becoming a point of reference for admirers of Persian textile art.

A love of quality and attention to detail enabled the company to build a solid reputation. Yet fate had other challenges in store, such as theft and robbery that tested the tenacity of this family.

The revival of an Eastern tradition

But Minu and Shahrokh did not give up. Supported by the encouragement of friends and customers, they managed to reopen Amirgiafari's doors in 1995, this time on Viale Matteotti. Since then, the company has continued to be an ambassador of the Oriental tradition in Florence, allowing its rugs to tell ancient stories of beauty in every setting. Today you can find us at 41r Via degli Artisti.

Each carpet holds the soul of a millennia-old civilization, interwoven with traditions, art and culture.

It is from these remote districts that Amirgiafari's textile masterpieces draw their origins, finally landing in the enchanting setting of Florence, the cradle of the Italian Renaissance.
